THE PARTY Scott White’s midcentury gallery in La Jolla was abuzz with gallerina girls and artists for the opening of the Clifford Smith exhibit. THE HIGHLIGHT Best known for his photo-realistic works of oil on linen and paper, Smith had 14 works on display. Partygoers also ogled the sculpture of artist Joey Vaiasuso, who runs Jett Gallery in Little Italy, next door to White’s old space. Earlier this year, White gutted his midcentury gem on Girard, transforming it into an airy ode to art. UPCOMING Mark your calendar for White’s summer group exhibition July 21 through Sept. 8.
