A+D Salon # 4
Kun House 1 & Kun House 2
A+D Architecture and Design Museum Los Angeles and Angeleno Magazine are pleased to present the finale in our series of four unforgettable salons at iconic midcentury modern homes across the city.
Please join us on October 8, 2013 for the final salon in the series at the Neutra designed Kun House 1 and Kun House 2.
In 1936 Richard Neutra designed his largest and most significant work of residential architecture for journalist Josef Kun. Sweeping views of the city are experienced from every window and deck, while the recently restored exquisite details of Neutra’s style are to be enjoyed close up and personally. The Kun house is where Neutra meets the work of architecture photographer Julius Shulman and the rest is history.
In 1950 Neutra designed a second home for Mr. Kun. It is across the street and perches above Kun House #1 so that the views are that much more spectacular and we experience his design talent as it responds to advances made in building technology.
Come immerse yourself in two works of sublime architecture while enjoying the company of fellow enthusiasts, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. This is an experience not to be missed.
