A Time for Heroes
Celebrities joined families and supporters from across the country for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation’s 24th annual “A Time for Heroes” event. “A Time for Heroes” was a family celebration jam-packed with celebrities, live entertainment, music, and a host of activities for children and teens. This year’s activities included a skateboard demo area, 4-way trampoline, micro-race track, sports zone, photo booth, and creative arts and crafts.
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, Actors Tamera Mowry-Housley, Tahj Mowry and Tia Mowry-Hardrict, Actress Jessica Szohr (The Internship, Gossip Girl), Singers Aly and AJ Michalka, Actress Beth Littleford, and Fitness expert Richard Simmons were among the celebrities who participated in the day's activities.
Interscope Recording Artist Jessica Sanchez, Singer/Songwriter and HIV activist Jamar Rogers and roots-rock children’s band Jambo performed at the event.
This year’s event raised over $600,000 and monies are continuing to come in. Since its inception, EGPAF’s “A Time for Heroes” event has raised more than $34 million to prevent new HIV infections in babies, provide lifesaving treatments to HIV-positive mothers, and support pediatric AIDS research.
