Last Call: Coachella

Suffering from F.O.M.O.? (Fear of Missing Out, that is). That’s why the masterminds behind the massively popular Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival slated a second weekend. For those making the pilgrimage to Indio come Friday, here are our favorite L.A. bands primed to take the stage.

A beautiful sunset casts rays over the Coachella Valley.

1. Broken Bells
It’s been a busy year for the L.A.-based indie duo. Between the release of a new album and a just-announced slot at Bonnaroo, Broken Bells will take the Coachella stage on the first day.

2. Haim
This edgy sister act, melding retro beats and a modern message, hails from the Valley. Now, they find themselves in Indio with a performance scheduled for the first day. Don’t miss their smash hit, “The Wire.”

3. Capital Cities
Not from Sacramento, as their name might imply, the synth-centric “Safe and Sound” crooners got their start as jingle writers right here in the City of Angels. See how far they’ve come on day two.

4. Warpaint
Well known in the L.A. scene—they headlined Isabel Marant’s Melrose Place anniversary party—the all-female alt-rock group is no stranger to the spotlight. They’ll rock Coachella on day two.

5. Poolside
Boasting funky electro beats, a name that evokes a favorite L.A. pastime and an album entitled Pacific Standard Time, these local musicians are hard not to like. Catch the hype during their set on day three.
