The Shape of Things to Come

Shape House founder Sophie Chiche

Networking, make way for sweatworking. Sophie Chiche dreamed up Larchmont’s new Shape House as an urban sweat lodge—a place for those seeking enlightenment to gather and share ideas before, during and after detoxifying. Devotees spend 55 minutes under infrared blankets with the option of conversing with a partner, meditating peacefully or tuning into Netflix and Pandora on individual flat-screen TVs. The infrared therapy is linked to weight loss, increased metabolism and the removal of emotional blocks—benefits that have made Chiche a believer in the process. Both before and after treatments, clients are encouraged to rest in the Relax Room or get creative in the Dream Room, where they can draw up a vision board or write in a journal about the thoughts, emotions and mental blocks they want to release during their next session. Now that’s hot. Sweats start at $45 for 55 min.; 434 N. Larchmont Blvd., L.A., 323.467.3000, shapehousela.‌com
