Hyman Mall Happenings

The Hyman Avenue Mall provides a sampling of what our quaint town offers. From fine jewelry to high-end sportswear to street food, the pedestrian mall is the most happening street in Aspen on any given day. Come for the shopping and stay for the people watching at any of the numerous restaurants (or watering holes).

Ellina

Club by night and cafe by day, Escobar’s patio is the happening place for daytime relaxing and people watching. Located in the middle of the Hyman Mall action, it’s a great spot for a refreshing John Daly cocktail of lemonade and iced tea laced with vodka. But what we love even more are Escobar’s small bites like arepas—delicious hand made Colombian street food—and signature lobster rolls. DETAILS 426 East Hyman Ave.

Sourced from stylists and designers from Paris, Geneva and Madrid, owner Giselle Leal’s curated collection reflects her Annie Hall meets Audrey Hepburn style. Rest assured you won’t run into anyone with the same piece—Magasin’s exclusively offers one of a kind and vintage finds. DETAILS 411 East Hyman Ave.

Perfectly light Parisian macaroons at 7,890 feet? The elevation can’t stop the husband and wife team behind Annette’s Mountain Bake Shop from whipping up melt-in-your-mouth macaroons. Baked fresh daily, these special treats range in flavors from pistachio to lemon ricotta. DETAILS 420 East Hyman Ave.

Ross Andrews Jewelry Designs is one of Aspen’s few jewelry stores where everything is made in-house. Owner Ross Andrew and wife Rosie Whipple-Andrews create one of a kind and custom pieces perfect for your next gala. And they make a point of telling their customers that they use “only ethically sourced metals and precious stones.” DETAILS 430 East Hyman Ave.

Ellina has quickly earned a reputation as a restaurant where visitors and locals meet and mingle over wine and small plates. Ellina’s affordable bar menu offers dishes like its decadently delicious artichoke heart bruschetta and ahi tuna tacos, in addition to their award-winning wine list (endorsed by Wine Spectator magazine). Or if you are looking for a more intimate dining experience, Ellina’s offers al fresco dining, complete with fleece blankets to keep the evening chill away. DETAILS 430 E Hyman Ave.
