Bridal Sign Up

Natalie Newell & Bob Trahan

June 9, 2012 | Cavallo Point, Sausalito

“After my first date with Bob, I had this feeling that I would never find anyone else interesting again, like I had found someone who broke the mold,” recalls Newell, who wed in an Amsale gown from Marina Morrison.

Floral Theory designed the arrangements.

“We wanted a certain rustic elegance,” Newell says of the setting.

Newell carried a bouquet of white peonies, parrot tulips and astilbe.

Union Street Papery designed the paper suite.

Perfect Endings created an elegant four-tier cake.

The Couple
The pair met at Facebook in 2007, where for six years Harvard alum Trahan served as engineering director and then the director of culture, and Newell was a specialist in user operations.

The Venue
“Once we visited Cavallo, we just knew,” remembers Newell. “The city lights were sparkling back at us; it was calm and peaceful. It’s just so magical there.”

The Details
Yasmin Zialcita Ali of Floral Theory imagined a tulle backdrop for the ceremony, a nod to the pleats in the skirt of the bride’s gown.

The Party
Allison Silber of Engaged & Inspired created a custom photo booth backdrop featuring embroidery hoops, varied prints and blue-and-yellow geometric patterns. “It was a really cool ‘wow factor’ that everyone got a chance to see and use,” says planner Simone Lennon of Soirée by Simone.
