Bridal Sign Up

Karen Devault & David Racicot

August 31, 2013 | Cherry Basket Farm, Omena, Mich.

David kept it casual yet classy in a cotton/wool-blend suit from Jos. A. Bank and a Vineyard Vines tie, while Karen wore a Liancarlo dress—the only aspect of the wedding that didn’t come from Michigan—she found at Ultimate Bride in Chicago.

Refreshing cocktails were courtesy of Thatcher’s.

Karen’s bouquet by Field of Flowers Farm was thoughtfully woven with wedding rings and family heirlooms.

Karen created what she calls an “East Coast preppy” and “rustic city” vibe on tables using burlap runners and roses.

The Couple
For David and Karen, a Michigan native, love came naturally, much like the ingredients in Thatcher’s Organic Artisan Spirits, the company that David founded. The two Chicago residents met when Karen was hired to help plan a launch event for David’s line of USDA-certified organic liqueurs.

The Details
“We really wanted our wedding to reflect the amazing product that brought us together,” Karen says. Plenty of Thatcher’s-based libations were on hand, plus a selection of Michigan beer, wine and bubbly.

The Party
Guests imbibed and mingled among hay- bale seating and a DIY Mason jar chandelier.
