Seven Wonders

Bridal designer Sarah Seven chooses Chicago for her first boutique outside of California.

TIMELESS ROMANCE: Feminine details and vintage-inspired beauty are part of the Sarah Seven Chicago flagship boutique design.

It’s no secret that brides have plenty of options when shopping in Chicago. But we are firm believers in that old adage, “the more, the merrier,” and we’re swooning over Sarah Seven’s new flagship wedding dress and accessory boutique in Lincoln Park.

The San Francisco designer appeals to brides looking for options outside of traditional ball gowns. “Our bride is often considered the ‘anti-bride,’” says Seven. “She embodies the fresh, new approach to the wedding experience. She knows her personal style well and doesn’t let wedding stress make her head spin.”

She also looks great doing it. We love Seven’s simple silhouettes with feminine details, such as beaded cap sleeves and lace overlays that make for chic, romantic gowns. For fall 2014, she’s all about beaded lace. “We love its sophisticated feel on an understated silhouette—timeless and glamorous all at once.”

Seven wants to give local brides the same warm welcome her brand has always received—that’s why she chose the Windy City as her first location for a boutique outside of California. “We chose Chicago after a few very successful traveling trunk shows and overwhelming requests from local brides,” she says. “Chicago is such a perfect shopping destination for Midwest brides, and we loved the idea of having a store on a tree-lined street, keeping things low-key and familiar.”

Rest assured, there won’t be any Bridezilla-style meltdowns in this salon. “Typically a bit bohemian with an eye for vintage details, our brides are always the epitome of cool,” says Seven.
