Entrepreneur Amber Venz brings her chic style to her own knockout nuptials.
To Amber Venz, running a successful international business is almost easier to fit in her jet-setting schedule than wedding planning. The busy blogger and president of rewardstyle.com, recently married her business partner, Baxter Box, with whom she had a two-month engagement before their intimate wedding in Mexico. The 26-year-old gorgeous redhead paused for a split second to share some style details of her big day.
“Once all the details of the ceremony were defined, I was surprised at how bohemian it had become. My personal style is more structured, monochromatic and architectural, but my ceremony [was] somewhere between ’20s romantic and ’70s bohemian. My usual style [came] back out for the reception and next-day boat party.”
Venz opted for a custom creation by Watters—a long-sleeve, empire waist gown with a train. Silk muslin appliques covered a nude body of gauze. “The cut seems conservative, but the dress is sexy in a high-fashion way,” she says.
“Instead of a veil, I opted for a leafy green and white flower halo that [sat] on the crown of my head.”
“My ceremony [was] on top of a mountain overlooking the Sea of Cortez, so I chose to wear flats: nude leather Balenciaga sandals, the straps of which are shaped like branches.”
Men in Black
“I have always known that I wanted all of the men at my wedding to wear black tuxes, so that decision was made very early in our planning.”
House Party Rules
“We are somewhat of an unconventional couple, and we decided not to have a house party. We did, however, invite Baxter’s two nieces and nephew to be the flower girls and ring bearer. I was not able to find any flower- girl dresses that I liked, so I made their dresses myself. The ring bearer [wore] a black tux.”
Diamond stud earrings gifted from her dad when she was 13, and three diamond occasion bands that Baxter has given her over the years, completed her jewelry look.
“I color my own hair, so I [did] it the night before the wedding to make sure my hair [was] its most glossy, vibrant red. As a public figure, I have to be in top shape every week, so there was nothing too dramatic that I did in preparation for the big day.”
Pretty in Pink
“I always go with a light pink nail on my hands and toes. I’m not very loyal to my colors, but I typically choose from Essie or Opi.”
Saving the Day
Venz’s saviors for day-of beauty included Oribe texture spray, Sally Hansen spray-on leg makeup and extra lash extensions. To capture it all, she had her Eye-Fi wireless SD chip (“for syndicating the pictures directly to my mobile and then to Instagram.”). Natch!
Her going-away ensemble was a peach slim lapel blazer, high-waisted shorts and bow-front tube top from Cameo, paired with PVC Valentino rock-stud heels and Dior double pearl earrings.
