Bridal Sign Up

Sydney Jones & William Knight

October 5, 2013 | The Nasher Sculpture Center

William hand-picked each diamond for the ring he designed for Sydney from Ascot Diamonds in Dallas.

Sydney’s Vera Wang gown was an ivory silk mikado dream, with tissue organza, French tulle and a hand-draped bodice wrapped with a soft pink grosgrain ribbon—and the groom wore Vera Wang too!

Jackie Spratt created six tiers of fresh strawberry cake with whipped Chambord filling and buttercream icing, all dressed with purple gladiolas, white tulips and fresh hydrangeas.

The Stalk Market created stunning centerpieces of purple gladiolas; bells of Ireland; green hydrangeas; purple Dendrobium orchids; and purple and white tulips and calla lillies, plus hanging amaranthus.

The Nasher added a modern twist to the affair.

The Couple
Will proposed to Sydney at a nearby park gazebo, with a picture frame collage of images, starting from their first date and ending with their most recent Napa vacation. When she noticed a missing photo, she knew he was proposing!

The Details
For this couple, it was all about family and tradition, from the heirloom lavaliere pen (from Sydney’s maternal great-grandmother) tucked into her bouquet,
and family photo montages, to the homemade BBQ sauce and spice rub favors created by the bride’s brother, a competitive pitmaster.

The Party
For the getaway, the bride donned a white, ruffled mini dress and hopped into The Ritz-Carlton’s 2014 Jaguar XJ Extended, driving into the night.
