Bridal Sign Up

Caroline Baughman & Ian Carrillo

October 12, 2013 | Crystal Ballroom

Caroline, Ian and their wedding party, led by the Texas Brass Band, headed a New Orleans-style second line celebration down Texas Avenue, and were joined by complete strangers along the way.

The bride’s gently cascading bouquet by Jonathan Andrew Sage nodded to the peacock theme.

Cocktails included margaritas for the Texan folks and hurricanes for guests hailing from Louisiana.

Who Made the Cake created a feather-inspired confection.

The bride’s sparkling shoes paired perfectly with her Pronovias gown from Houston Bridal Gallery.

Bering’s executed the modern peacock theme in the invitations
and programs.

The Couple
Ian proposed on the back patio of Brenner’s Steakhouse on Caroline’s birthday just before she was to return to LSU for her final fall semester.

The Details
Wedding planner Kat Creech pulled together a modern peacock theme using a palette of ivory, turquoise and purple. Flora & Eventi created a larger-than-life floral peacock, and Darryl & Co. curated an elegant selection of lounge furniture.

The Party
The Texas Brass Band ushered guests from the ceremony to the reception, where food stations proffering made-to-order grilled cheese sandwiches and Cajun fare (with beer pairings!) awaited.
