Bridal Sign Up

Maritza Rodriguez & Bryan Steuer

October 19, 2013 | Hotel El Convento, San Juan

Martiza chose a Pronovias Chantilly lace gown in off-white, purchased at D’Royal Bride in San Juan and accessorized with family heirloom earrings and necklace. Bryan wore a Calvin Klein tuxedo rented at Leonardo’s.

Creaciones Ana designed the neutral metallic-themed invitations.

The bride carried an all-white bouquet with various types of roses, anemones, hydrangeas and orchids.

Maritza’s engagement ring was designed by Verragio, while the couple’s wedding bands—hers in rose gold, and his in minimalistic mixed metals—came from Nederland Jewelers.

The romantic tablescapes, designed by DOBA by Miriam Dobano, used gold and silver place settings and tall candlesticks to set the mood.

This elegant cake by CM Contemporary Cake Designers featured tiers of guava and Nutella flavors.

The Couple
The couple originally met at work, but when Bryan repeatedly asked Maritza out, she repeatedly turned him down—until, of course, he said he needed help shopping. The rest is history, and Bryan later proposed at the Kemah Boardwalk in Texas.

The Details
A native of Puerto Rico, Maritza fell in love with Old San Juan at an early age and wanted guests to experience its charm. Planned by Yaska Crespo, the ceremony was held at Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y el Caribe, and the reception followed at the historic Hotel El Convento.

The Party
The highlight of the reception came when a local folklore music band arrived to teach guests the music and dance moves. “It was Bryan’s favorite moment of the day. I think he was born to be a Puerto Rican,” says Maritza.
