Fab 5: Musician Hot Spots

Music festivals are practically synonymous with summer, and the scene in Chicago is no exception (hello, Lolla!). Catch your favorite bands both on and offstage by hitting up these star-studded restaurants and bars.

Fab 5: Musician Hot Spots in Chicago

West Loop’s RM Champagne Salon is a favorite among stars.

1. Nellcote
This West Loop eatery is named for the French villa where the Rolling Stones recorded "Exile on Main Street", so it’s no surprise that it’s a magnet among musicians visiting the Windy City. Haim, Lana Del Rey, Last Shadow Puppets and Foals are all fans of the seasonal, European-inspired fare. 833 W. Randolph St., 312.432.0500

2. Johnny’s Grill
Indie rock band Cage the Elephant was recently spotted serving up burgers and fries alongside Chef Sarah Jordan at this Logan Square watering hole, which remixes the classic diner experience through a host of fresh cocktails and tavern specials (we’re particularly partial to the hand-dipped ricotta toast). 2545 N. Kedzie Blvd., 773.278.2215

3. RM Champagne Salon
This charming Champagne bar and bistro is a favorite among stars including Questlove, Channing Tatum and the Empire cast. In case the potential of these celeb sightings isn’t enough, RM’s vintage bubbly collection and candlelit outdoor patio make the trip well worth it. 116 N. Green St., 312.243.1199

4. Owen + Alchemy
When musicians want to stay healthy and hydrated during the festival season, they stop into Logan Square’s Owen + Alchemy, a chef-driven juice “apothecary” that carries a host of refreshing cold-pressed elixirs and raw foods. Fans range from St. Vincent’s Annie Clark to Katy Perry (we suspect that the pineapple, jalapeno and cucumber juice made her roar!). 2355 N. Milwaukee Ave., 773.227.3444

5. Momotaro
Since its debut in late 2014, Momotaro has played host to a multitude of esteemed celebrities (Busy Philipps, Timberlake and Bono from U2—to name a few). And, for good reason: the sashimi and the chef’s selected nigirizushi is impossible to resist. 820 W. Lake St., 312.733.4818
