Cashing In
by Stephen Lovelette | CS magazine | February 17, 2012Your New Year’s resolution was to be more charitable, but let’s face it: We’re all a little greedy when it comes to cash. So we were intrigued—but not surprised—to turn on Shark Tank last month and see Chicago businessman Patrick McCarthy pitching his new Money fragrance to the panel of potential investors. Money, which comes in both “His” and “Hers” bottles protected in their packaging by shredded U.S. currency, claims to have the scent of freshly minted bills along with notes including citrus, grapefruit and ocean breezes. McCarthy was inspired by a Japanese study that showed a significant increase in worker productivity when the smell of cash was pumped through a factory floor. Now, does Money really smell like money? You’ll have to buy it to find out. McCarthy’s a smart businessman, indeed. liquidmoney.com
