THE PARTY Nearly 1,000 masked guests gathered at Navy Pier for the Swedish Covenant Hospital Foundation Board’s 2011 benefit, The Masquerade. THE PLAYERS Robert Jordan Jr., of WGN-TV, emceed the event that honored philanthropists Richard and Roxy Pepper and the Yelda family as this year’s Spirit of Compassion award recipients. After dinner, the masked guests got down to the sounds of the Chicago Groove Collective. Even the ballroom was “in costume,” with stunning flowers and décor by Topiarius. THE BOTTOM LINE More than $862,000 was raised for the hospital’s Surgical Services unit.
