Back to the Future
The Party The Mid-Atlantic chapter of the International Interior Design Association hosted a “fashion” show at Arlington’s Artisphere to raise $15,000 for the domestic violence shelter My Sister’s Place. The People ABC7/WJLA-TV evening news anchor Alison Starling emceed the event, which drew 780 guests. Best In Show Designers partnered with home-goods manufacturers to create the frocks, inspired by Raymond Saunders’ painting “Red Star” at the Corcoran Gallery. Wood veneer, sheet glass, carpeting and tile were among the “fabrics” used. Photography by Tony Brown
