The First Couple has set the tone for upscale dining in DC, so it’s no surprise that their staffers can also be found hitting up the hottest spots in the city. We caught up with White House staffer Fran Holuba and got her to dish on her favorite after-hours haunts in DC.
1. Best Spot for a Girls’ Night Out
“STK (1250 Connecticut Ave. NW, 202.296.1880)! DC has been sorely missing an upscale hot spot where the power femmes of the city can convene, scheme and dream about those perfect pumps and that next big promotion.”
2. Best VIP Area
“The team at Kabin (1337 Connecticut Ave. NW, 202.810.2770) really knows how to treat a VIP right. The elevated platform, the customized packages and personalized service ensure you always have a glass of bubbly in your hand and a smile on your face.”
3. Best Place for Dancing
“The basement of Napoleon Bistro & Lounge (1847 Columbia Road NW, 202.299.9630): shameless, anonymous hip-shaking.”
4. Best Apres Office Cocktails
“I’m somewhat biased due to the close proximity to the White House, but BLT Steak (1625 I St. NW, 202.689.8999) never fails me for a great crafted cocktail and ambience to match. You never know which politico may be sipping gin and tonic in the corner.”
5. Best Rooftop View
“The Graham Georgetown (1075 Thomas Jefferson St. NW, 202.337.0900) rooftop is enchanting, particularly as the sun goes down over the spires of Georgetown University.”
