A host of hot Houstonians flocked to Downtown’s Market Square to toast the latest ad campaign from the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Still-new Okra Charity Saloon hosted the campaign’s star-studded launch party, which featured beer from Saint Arnold’s and a one-of-a-kind cocktail—think passion fruit, lemon, Nicaraguan rum and Angostura bitters on ice—whipped up by the bar’s GM, Mike Criss.
Partygoers also noshed on savory snacks—scallop crudo, charcuterie—from Underbelly, Paulie’s and Oxheart, whose owners are partners at Okra.
The city’s largest national-image campaign yet, it features groups of local celebs in five different ads, each communicating a different idea about what makes Houston unique.
Texans linebacker Connor Barwin, Houston Ballet’s Nao Kusuzaki, chef Bryan Caswell, interior design star Lucinda Loya and fashion designer Chloe Dao are some of those featured in the campaign, and they were also spotted among the crowd. Photos by Daniel Ortiz
