... Black tie, that is. Asia Society toasts Year Two in new digs—how purr-fectly posh!
At the annual Tiger Ball, supporters of Asia Society Texas, several draped in appropriately tiger-eye-catching national dress, toasted the one-year anniversary of their new Museum District digs.
The evening began at dusk, with a cocktail hour in a glowing tent set up outside the Yoshio Taniguchi-designed building.
Then the crowd of 500-plus was ushered inside the spectacular space, with walls swathed in 150-million-year-old limestone and panels of cherry wood. Here, they soaked in the sounds of Indian sitarists and Vietnamese folk singers, and a multicourse meal from Jackson and Company.
Post-dessert, guests—including chairs Devinder and Gina Bhatia, Sushana and Jack Castle, and Y. Ping Sun and David Leebron—migrated to the Fayez Sarofim Grand Hall, where they danced the night away to tunes spun by Houston’s own DJ Sun.
Talk about a roaring good time! The night raised $650,000.
