In The Club

So, you’re blindfolded in an Uber ride, bound for Midtown. Hopefully you’re with some friends—otherwise that’d be a little weird.
One cacophony, two flights of stairs and three velvet ropes later, you sit down, and somebody lifts the veil. White leather sofas. Antebellum chandeliers. Atlanta’s first family of nightclubs mixes up your Saturday night—again. Flaming bottles of Champagne. Technobeams. Dramatic wall murals. Loud music. The see-and-be-seen set. This all looks vaguely familiar... there’s something Gidewon about this.
If you’ve been clubbing in the ATL, you know the name. The venerable Alex Gidewon (of AG Entertainment) is behind some of the hottest locales in the city—namely Compound and Gold Room. They’re posh, exclusive and pretty much a guaranteed (but well worth it) hangover, and we love it.
That’s why we’re pretty excited to welcome Privé to the fold. Together with co-owner Sean Holland, Gidewon launched his new club in the old Primal space. The sprawling digs have been massively renovated and punctuated with multiple superluxe private booths: the ultimate setup for pacing your night in style. Reserve one in advance, and have them put a couple of bottles on ice for you—trust us on this one.
But it’s the unknown factor that makes this place stand out: On any given night, the hottest DJs in town go shoulder-to-shoulder with A-list celebs who stop in for guest appearances. There’s no telling when it’ll happen, but that’s just how Gidewon rolls. @privesaturday
