Favorite thing about being single: Since I have a life-consuming passion for my music career, it can be hard to share a close, intimate life with someone. So right now the best thing is my total freedom to go after my dream.
Favorite thing about being in a relationship: Taking road trips to cool places with someone you want to share the experience with.
Part of the body you most notice: It depends on the body in question.
Ideal qualities in a potential mate: Sense of humor, laid-back nature, interest in new things, independence and quirks.
Biggest turn-ons and turn-offs: Turn-ons: A good sense of humor, kindness and passion are always a hit in my world. Turn-offs: Neediness and insecurity in the way they interact with you is always the fastest way to get me to seek the eject button.
Where you go to meet people: Fortunately, it’s part of my job to be out a lot, but either way I’m an extrovert and rarely meet strangers.
Favorite sports team: I don’t really have any pet teams, but I love me some MMA (any combat sport), soccer and football.
Top hobbies: Exercising, languages, traveling, finding new music and hanging out with my sister.
Professional accomplishments: My write-up in last month’s issue of Rolling Stone, my award nominations, meeting Jack Johnson a couple of times and giving him and his band my new album (and hearing that they liked it!) and being on the cover of a romance novel.
Something people would never guess about you: I used to train in MMA and combat sports. I trained with world champ Forrest Griffin for a long time in college and was even a special forces candidate—I was considering working for the military/government while I was in college.
