Inside Edition

There’s not much that can stop a Range Rover, be it navigating a treacherous mountain road or a steep, slippery parking garage. The British car company—building on its commitment to provide unsurpassed capability—has set out to stretch the brand and make it appeal to a more diverse set of customers. The result: a smaller SUV that’s more sustainable and fuel-efficient, yet still stylish and desirable. Powered by a four-cylinder turbo-charged engine, the Evoque runs from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds, and a 240-horsepower engine helps the Evoque achieve its very un-Range-Rover-like 28 mpg on the highway. But what’s most impressive about the $43,995 Evoque? Its stunning interior design. Take a peek inside.

1. Door Panel
Not unlike a fine leather briefcase, the Evoque’s door is covered in color-contrasting, supple, twin-needle stitched leather that looks as good as it feels.

2. LED Lights
Clever ambient LED lighting makes it easy to locate the silver door handle at night.

3. Speakers
Range Rover does an excellent job of integrating speaker design into the door, electing to showcase the high-end Meridian audio equipment with these two large metal-trimmed speaker housings.

4. Steering Wheel
Finally, a sporty Y-shaped, heated steering wheel on a Range Rover. Keeping your hands on the wheel is easy, thanks to thoughtfully arranged multifunction buttons.

5. Gauge Cluster
Gauges receive crisp, white LED backlighting that sparkles off two instrument pods that are trimmed with silver noble metal.

6. Leather Dash
A leather-trimmed upper dash matches the color of the leather steering wheel. Take your
pick from 12 different interior design schemes.

7. Navigation
Noble metal trim surrounds an 8-inch touch screen that controls everything, from the navigation system to the audio, video and phone functions. Eight hard keys flank the screen, making it easier to navigate your way through its various menus.

8. Center Stack
Thank you, Range Rover, for giving the Evoque a dual climate control system—operated with straightforward buttons, instead of through a complicated series of menus adjusted via the touch screen. Gorgeous aluminum trim flanks each side of the center stack as it curves toward the lower console. There’s a convenient storage area behind the center stack, illuminated by the subtle glow of LED ambient lighting—the color of which is selected by the driver.

9. Lower Console
Taking inspiration from Jaguar (Range Rover’s on-road sibling), the Evoque’s gearshift selector magically rises from within its recessed housing. The Evoque’s Terrain Response off-road system is cleanly presented just below the gearshift selector, and large cup holders and additional storage are hidden underneath this piano-lacquered roll-top cover.
