This year, head to Kohler, Wis., and turn your annual boys’ golf weekend into the ultimate golf and spa experience at Destination Kohler. Kohler Waters Spa technicians at The American Club will specifically focus on areas of the man’s body that are affected by golf. Try this for a perfect par 5!

The American Club

STOP 1
Upon arrival, The American Club (rooms from $182 per night) makes it easy. It has come a long way from what was originally a dormitory for immigrant employees for The Kohler Co. At the club, rich in historic elegance, you’ll be surrounded by fine-dining options and steps away from Kohler Spa, and you’ll enjoy constant shuttles to the courses.

STOP 2
With multiple golf courses available, it’s tough to choose. Our suggestion? Mix it up! The resort includes four award-winning Championship courses at Whistling Straits and Blackwolf Run, which has hosted a number of professional championships, including the PGA Championship and U.S. Women’s Open, and will host the 2020 Ryder Cup. With the Ultimate Buddies Trip package, you can take part in a 19th-hole celebration, plus add on team plaques, caddie bibs and locker room nameplates.

“Our spa technicians have been trained to pay special attention to areas that need more focus or stretching to assist in feeling the best possible for a round of golf or recovering best after a round,” says Manager of Kohler Waters Spas Garrett Mersberger. The Woodsman Massage aims to increase circulation and range of motion. The Rain Man hydrotherapy service includes the Kohler Custom Vichy Shower that uses digital technology to manage the pressure, temperature and pattern of water.

STOP 4
Take in the rustic atmosphere and dine indoors in front of a fieldstone fireplace or outdoors overlooking the 18th green at Blackwolf Run Restaurant. Don’t miss the signature dish: chipotle honey-glazed smoked pork chop, caramelized apples, Wisconsin blue cheese, pistachios and whipped potatoes.

STOP 5
The Winery Bar at The American Club was once the laundry room. Now it’s a charming lounge with an extensive variety of wine, single-malt scotches and cognacs. It’s not surprising, therefore, that bartender Peter Kalleward prefers to call the place The Whiskey Bar. His current fave? The Balvenie—a single malt still handcrafted the traditional way—offering the range of Portwood Aged 21 Years to the rare 40 Year Old. It’ll be your last great shot of the day.
