“No, we didn’t close,” says Flowerbar owner Alex Rodriguez. “We’re alive and thriving.” And blooming one might say. In anticipation of its 10th anniversary, Flowerbar is opening its new location at Midtown 4, directly across from Mercadito. This Saturday, Feb. 4, the new space goes back to the shop’s roots with an artistic component. “We’ll transform into a gallery at night,” says Rodriguez, “and showcase the work of up-and-coming Miami artists.” Of course, blooms will still be the venue’s first priority. In time for Valentine’s Day, Flowerbar will reveal its latest concept: glass terrariums with a butterfly cocoon that will hatch within a week after purchase. 3301 N.E. Second Ave., Miami, 305.759.2217
