Wynwood Wonders

by Staff Writer | Miami magazine | February 10, 2012

South Florida doesn’t go too long without an art fair, but this time of year we usually have to cross the county line—twice—to get our creativity on. Scratch the itch in our neck of the woods at this weekend’s Art Wynwood, Feb. 16-20, which is taking over the Midtown tent where Art Miami was held during Basel.

On the agenda: paintings, photography, sculpture, art video and new media, conceptual art and urban street murals by about 500 artists representing 13 countries. Not to be missed is the exhibit The Flying Murals of Wynwood curated by Tony Goldman, which will feature six 8-by-24 foot murals by artists (including Retna, How & Nosm, DAZE, Aiko and Futura) reinventing graffiti as we know it. Tickets $10-$30. 3101 N.E. First Ave., Miami, 520.529.1108, art-wynwood.com
