THE OCCASION Taste of the Nation Miami, the annual fundraiser for Share Our Strength’s efforts to end childhood hunger, celebrated its 25th anniversary with more than 40 of South Florida’s best chefs—and lots of wine and spirits.
THE CROWD More than 650 guests came out to support the event, emceed by chef Ralph Pagano and WPLG anchors Laurie Jennings and the always dapper Calvin Hughes. THE SCENE Held at one of Turberry Isle’s ballrooms, the tasting featured dozens of stations from the city’s top restaurants, a spirited live auction and live entertainment. The highlight of the evening was a toast to chef Allen Susser, who started Taste of the Nation and has chaired the event for all of its 25 years. Photography by Mitchell Zachs
