The Bacardi family has a storied legacy that can fill volumes, and its latest accomplishment certainly merits a few of those chapters. The powers-that-be at the spirits giant gathered a select group of Miami tastemakers for the launch of its Art of Rum Series, a new program with the purpose of introducing the Facundo Rum Collection, the company’s exclusive collection of premium sipping rums.
The intimate guest list at Juvia in Miami Beach included the likes of art collectors Jason and Michelle Rubell, attorney Daniel Novela, interior designer Fabio Lopes, Bal Harbour Shops Marketing Director Cheryl Stephenson and event consultant John Lin.
With introductions and getting-to-know-you chatter out of the way, guests were led to Juvia’s dining room for a dinner that paired each of the Facundo marques—Neo, Eximo, Exquisito and Paraiso—with signature dishes from the restaurant’s menu. Diners were captivated as Bacardi Brand Master David Cid waxed eloquently about the nuances between each of the different rums and how they’re made. Following the decadent meal, a number of guests ventured outside to Juvia’s terrace to puff on cigars as they swirled and sampled Facundo’s ultimate sip, Paraiso, which is aged up to 23 years in oak barrels. –Photography by World Red Eye
