Arianne Traverso stretches out on her own.
Tara Stiles brings her Strala yoga to The Standard this summer.
Let the stretching begin. From Wynwood to Miami Beach, yoga re-emerges as summer’s workout of choice.
Arianne Traverso, known in chakra circles as the Flying Yogi Guru, has a new bird coop in Trio Yoga. After building a name at Soho Beach House, where she still teaches, the Peruvian instructor founded a Wynwood yoga studio with former student Carlos Diaz and fellow yogi Michelle Berlin. Aside from Hatha and its offshoot, Vinyasa, Traverso specializes in Acroyoga, a rare fusion of yoga, acrobatics and Thai massage.Since the modality involves working in groups, she admits it isn’t for everybody. But for those who want to expand their practice with intense poses that make their sessions more emotionally and mentally challenging, this stretch routine is the way to go. “It’s a joyride,” says Traverso. “I’ve been hooked since 2006.” She also offers AY Fit, a yoga-meets-CrossFit hybrid, and regularly scheduled yoga retreats throughout Latin America. We feel centered already. 2328 NE Second Ave., Miami, 786.597.1755, trioyoga.com
