Moving on Uptown!by Connie Dufner | Modern Luxury Dallas magazine | November 21, 2012
People passing by the busy Uptown corner at Wolf Street and Maple Avenue long lamented the unfinished Residences at the Stoneleigh (residencesatthestoneleigh.com) high-rise building during the darkest months of the recession. But the dirt’s flying again, and the 22-story tower is set to open this spring—with a few unconventional twists on custom high-rise living.
Potential owners will work exclusively with two custom homebuilders, Sharif & Munir Custom Homes and Crescent Estates, to design a maximum of 75 units starting at about $150 per square foot. They will choose all their finishes and interior details and have input on the floor plans. The top floors will include a 12,000-square-foot penthouse and a reception area. R
esidents will also have access to all-inclusive concierge services such as golf, restaurant and transportation arrangements, and optional services such as grocery shopping and event planning. Might the new spot attract residents wanting an option other than a certain controversial downtown project? “We’ve had inquiries from people who have looked at Museum Tower, as well as other high-rise towers,” says Residences Vice President Kay Zafar.
