Kent Rathbun, of hot spots Abacus, Jasper’s and Rathbun’s Blue Plate Kitchen, continued his 14-year reign as lead chef during the 2011 March of Dimes’ annual Signature Chefs Auction of Dallas, co-chaired by Dean McSherry, Angela Nash and April Spicer. He directed a team of star kitchen masters for the “Whisk It Up”-themed evening at The Fairmont Dallas hotel, including Nana’s Anthony Bombaci, Bruno Davaillon of the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, Bijoux’s Scott Gottlich and Komali’s Abraham Salum, among others. The cocktail-chic crowd of 700 had myriad selections with which to fill their plates, and the delightful offerings kept them coming back for more. Photography by Dana Driensky
