Most of the time I carry my camera with me, and if I shoot anything, it’s spur of the moment,” he says. “I like the clouds.”

On this early fall evening, he left a friend’s home and searched for a place to capture the sunset. “I had a feeling it would be a good one,” he says. “I saw a pathway where the road ended and followed it, and it took me to this spot on the lake. I was really drawn to the trees. I snapped the picture before the sun went down.” The result: twisted trees on a vibrant pink and purple backdrop.
