Top Five Dallas Caterers

Whether you’re throwing an intimate soiree, bigger blowout or five-star banquet with all the fixins’, Dallas hosts a surplus of top-flight catering talent. Here, five of our faves.

Bite Size: Experimental Table’s roasted beet canapés with Mozzarella Company goat cheese, basil and raspberries

1. Experimental Table
Host a truly fresh affair with this farm-to-table outfit—a “natural” evolution of George and Katie Brown’s enormously popular GEORGE Catering. So down to earth, the couple even resides on a farm in Lucas, which can, conveniently, moonlight as a venue. This food never sees a hotbox, folks. 214.752.6851

2. Festive Kitchen
National catering maven Sandy Korem pays homage to comfort with kicky specialties like a Frito pie bar and chicken-fried-steak cones. But, if upscale is more your style, she’s just as clever about satiating for luxe soirees. 972.437.1523

3. Food Company
Parkies love Shelley Hudson and Andrea Hager’s Food Company—for, ahem, good reason. Besides creating simply terrific food—think shrimp tasting station, prosciutto-wrapped quail roulade and crispy duck confit—they share a kitchen with popular Nonna, run by Hudson’s son, Julian Barsotti. Hudson also does Marfa, her home away from home. 214.521.7193

4. Kent Rathbun
The savvy restaurateur brings the same sure hand and creative flair to Kent Rathbun Catering as he displays at Jasper’s and flagship Abacus, with favorites like his lobster shooters, Kobe beef carpacio and Maytag blue cheese potato chips. He’s also opened his own KB Event Venue in Plano and, for all you high fliers out there, offers private jet service, too. 214.619.3555

5. Two Sisters
Connie Chantilis has taken Two Sisters from humble, box-lunch beginnings to one of the city’s most dazzling caterers for events large or small. Recent winners include roasted duck flautas, apricot rumaki with jalapeno and a quinoa station. 214.823.3075
