Here, everyone’s favorite uptown girl Tory Burch talks shop!

So, what’s in store for shoppers at your new Waikiki boutique? We used a darker color palette for Royal Hawaiian, with more plum accents; the space is also two floors. Both locations offer the full Tory Burch collection, including ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, jewelry, eyewear and accessories.

How does the Tory Burch look complement Hawaii’s relaxed aesthetic? I think our use of color and print and the ease of our silhouettes and proportions complement the Hawaii lifestyle. I love how the women here have that laid-back spirit—their personal style is always natural and effortless.

Which of your signature pieces should be in every woman’s closet? We have embroidered blouses and floral print dresses for resort 2012, which is in stores now. There are also great ponchos and hoodies for a sportier look.

What draws you to island style? And what inspired your resort 2012 collection? For resort 2012, we were inspired by Santa Fe—bold colors, florals and textured details.

What do you have designs on next? For spring 2012, we are expanding our swimwear and accessories [lines]—belts, scarves and small leather goods.
