When a Maggie Coulombe dress meets Jason Dow jewelry, it’s an affair to remember.
This spring, two style stars have made a tasteful declaration: Going local can truly be luxurious. “It’s all about effortless dressing,” says Maui designer Maggie Coulombe about her latest collection, a sensuous feast of dresses in soft shades that drape across the body. “Slip on your dress; put on your jewelry; and you’re ready for the night!” declares Coulombe, whose creations have adorned Teri Hatcher and Halle Berry. Coulombe’s empowered femininity finds the perfect foil in wearable treasures by Honolulu jewelry designer Jason Dow. His newly debuted collection, Prakasa (or light in Hindi) takes its inspiration from Moroccan and Asian lanterns. “Much of my work is open and decorative,” says the Hawaii Fashion Month honoree. “This time around, I got to play with how light dances off each necklace.” We’re certain that any woman wearing these gorgeous pieces with a Coulombe dress will illuminate any room that she enters.
