Bring a sparkle to the last days of the summer season with chic pieces from some of Honolulu’s leading retailers. (Once your look is complete, you may very well look runway ready.) Here, the spots where you can indulge in retail therapy this weekend.
1. Kate Moss TOPSHOP at Nordstrom
The icon is back! And fearless fashionistas can aim for supermodel status (or at least, dress like one) now that the Kate Moss TOPSHOP collection has arrived at Nordstrom. Back after a four-year hiatus, Moss designed a mix of eclectic pieces for the spring/summer 2014 season, capturing her unique and revered vintage style. Largely inspired by her own closet, creations range from embroidered kaftans and flirty feathered frocks to tailored trouser suits and lightweight jackets in butter-soft suede and liquid lamé. Like the British fashion icon herself, the collection is an utterly glamorous mix of bohemian and rocker. Be sure to pick up the last items of the collection before they fly out of the store. Eyewear is quick on its way to becoming the luxury accessory. At least, that’s what you’ll think when you step into this chic boutique, which offers a stunning breadth of selections from Tom Ford, Chanel, Cartier and more. We’re particularly in love with gorgeously crafted glasses from French brand FRED Lunettes. Hilton Hawaiian Village, 2005 Kālia Road, Waikīkī, O‘ahu, 922.8838
3. Samantha Thavasa
This hugely popular Japanese handbag label gained stateside recognition a few years ago when it enlisted Manhattan socialite Tinsley Mortimer to design exclusive collections. Now, Honolulu shoppers can finally get in on the act at the new Ala Moana outpost, which features the handbags sported all over Tokyo. Change is afoot for this Italian epitome of class. After a longtime run on Kalākaua Avenue, the boutique has moved to Ala Moana Center, where it will keep its faithful clientele well heeled in a temporary location before moving into its new space this fall. There’s lingerie, and then there’s Wolford, which recently unveiled a spring/summer collection that dazzles with the likes of gold lamé fabrics and metal studs. It’s no surprise, then, that Wolford’s looks have been sported by pop stars like Kylie Minogue. Ala Moana Center, Mall Level 2, Ala Moana/Kapi‘olani, O‘ahu, 952.5300
