29th Annual Strawberry Festival Takes Over Historic Downtown Long Grove

On Friday, June 21st – Sunday, June 23rd from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., celebrate summer’s favorite berry and kick-off the season at Long Grove’s 29th Annual Strawberry Festival! The 29th Annual Strawberry Festival is the largest of Long Grove’s signature festivals, drawing close to 40,000 visitors to the historic business district for the 3-day event. In fact, Long Grove’s Strawberry Festival is one of Chicagoland’s top summer festivals.
From chocolate-dipped fresh strawberries and strawberry donuts to ice creams and fruit smoothies, join us for a weekend filled with very “berry” treats, live music, great food and distinctive shopping in charming Historic Downtown Long Grove. With a $5 admission fee per person (all children under 12 are free), guests receive a $5 coupon off their next visit to Long Grove as a special thank you from the Long Grove Business and Community Partners Organization.
The pleasures of summer are celebrated with “berry” wonderful strawberry-inspired treats. Strawberry lovers of all ages flock to Long Grove’s renowned fest to enjoy chocolate covered strawberries, fruit smoothies, and other strawberry drinks, ice creams, strawberry donuts, baked goods and, of course we can’t forget, the farm-fresh berries themselves. Participating shops and restaurants will cater to these summer themed treats throughout the weekend, and include many shopping and dining specials to celebrate.
“Long Grove’s Strawberry Festival is one of the most beloved summer family festivals throughout Illinois,” says Rachel Perkal, President of the Long Grove Business and Community Partners Organization. “Visitors love the mixture of everything strawberry plus the every day living of Long Grove of trendy shops, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants in a beautiful old-world setting of historic buildings, cobblestone walks, colorful gardens, and the landmark covered bridge.”
At Strawberry Festival there is free live entertainment all three days at venues all over town and most of Long Grove’s shops, galleries, cafes, and restaurants offer variations of strawberry-themed foods, drinks, and merchandise. Plenty of fun activities are throughout the town for children, including a variety of kiddie rides, face painting, outdoor activities, and tents full of family products.
