Island Breezes warmed the air when Laura’s House supporters gathered for the nonprofit’s fourth annual gala—held, of course, at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach. European vacations were up for bid, as well as a wall of wine with more than 150 bottles from around the world. The highlight for one lucky guest: a $6,395 Forum Heart Bracelet. But the real coup de grâce was the $150,000 that was raised for the nonprofit organization, which provides a safe haven and programs aimed at breaking the cycle of abuse. Photos by Carla Rhea
