For Newport native Taylor Beauchamp, a French bulldog named Charlie was more than a gift from her parents.
Charlie gave her a new leash on life when Beauchamp was looking for a career that would allow her to feed her passion. And her new high-end dog boutique Charlie & Me does just that. Tucked inside The Cove shopping center along Mariner’s Mile, her loft-like space is filled with a highly curated selection of unique products that appeal to the stylish dog owner.
“You’ll find everything from hip, funky and fun dogwear to more sophisticated, delicate looks, depending on the taste of the customer,” says Beauchamp. “And we have dog beds, toys, bowls and other items that would fit right into a modern home without ruining the decor. We’ve got dog accessories from Italy, the Netherlands and Canada that are tasteful, fashion-forward and not found in other boutiques.”
If you’ve got a cat, though, you’re out of luck. This place is for the dogs—and their owners. “I realized how much dogs can represent their owners in the social and always fashionable scene of Newport Beach,” says Beauchamp.
And she aims to pamper O.C.’s pooches with the most posh items on the planet. “My goal is to bring class and sophistication to the dog lovers out there,” she says. “I hope to take this trend of accessorizing your dog to a whole new level.” 410 W. Coast Highway, Newport Beach, charlieandme.us
