Bird Is the Word!

You won’t find Ugg Boots and $200 jeans at Bird’s Surf Shed, a new surf shop and interactive museum that boasts 1,000-plus boards, some dating back to the 1930s, along with legendary shapes from Mike Hynson and Bob Simmons to more modern design from Tim Bessell and Rusty Preisendorfer. While founder Eric “Bird” Huffman regularly hosts shows at the converted hangar off Morena Boulevard, visitors who come any day of the week are encouraged to borrow boards.
