THE PARTY Rancho Valencia provided the storybook setting for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego’s annual Romp gala, Once Upon a Time. THE SCENE Twinkling lights and whimsical butterfly décor complemented the fairy-tale-inspired menu (dishes included Into the Woods salad and Big Bad Wolf short ribs). With their signature soulful harmony, the Grammy-winning vocal group Boyz II Men worked their magic on the crowd. THE HIGHLIGHT A private jet escape to the French Laundry was among the auction items that helped raise more than $660,000 to provide a home away from home to families with children receiving treatment in local hospitals.
