Meet the Best New Local Time-Wasting Website Ever

Don't even bother reading our story. Just click over to their site already.

Somtimes we write stories because they're important. Sometime we write them because they're insightful. Sometimes we write them because we're hungry. This one we're writing because our friends are doing something cool you should know about.

If you ever wanted to know what it sounds like to be in a newsroom without the filters, you can get a good sense of it from the new website, Slow News Day, by Eve Batey (the editor of the San Francisco Appeal and former lead editor of SFist) and Beth Spotswood, a culture writer for the Chronicle (and sometimes us too). It's filled with the kind of hysterical headlines that the rest of us would love to take credit for writing, like: "Clay Aiken Thinks He's Running for Congress (!)", "Coke and Rat Pee", and our favorite, "Meet Chile's Hottest Gynecologist, Rico Swab-bay".

According to the site's about section, Batey and Spotswood, "want to turn our daily IM chats into a website." They have. And it's glorious. It's like being a fly on the wall at the drunkest slumber party in history.

Look, we could tell you more about it, but what's the need? You get the drill here. Basically, what we're telling you is to stop reading us and click over there immediately. Then come back (we need the page views). But do that first.
