A Pool Party Gone Posh

Because Napa's not all about the wine.
One of the poshest resorts in Napa is about to turn into a dive bar. Well, sort of: Rather than feature pool tables and a dirty bathroom with doors that don’t lock, this dive bar will offer complimentary valet parking, drink specials, and some of the best short films included in the upcoming Napa Valley Film Festival.
The Dive Bar event at Bardessono Hotel, Restaurant, and Spa on Thursday, August 28 is basically a new take on the classic pool party, bookended at the end and the beginning with two showings (5 pm and 9 pm) of five short films included in the lineup of the Napa Valley Film Festival, taking place November 12–16. Free to attend, the party will include a chance to win two passes to the film festivals. The five films being shown are described on the hotel’s website as follows:
Sure Thing: Bill takes the only available seat in a cafe—at Betty's table. Is she the one? Is he? (14 min)
Slomo: This documentary profiles a neurologist who abandoned his career to move to Pacific Beach, where he trades his lab coat for a pair of rollerblads to become SLOMO. (16 min)
My New Apartment: A man moves into a hip, new LA apartment and quickly realizes that his upstairs neighbor prevents him from finding peace within his new world. (2 min)
Teenage Wine Snobs: A group of unlikely wine aficionados debate their favorite varietals with bottles they have recently lifted from the parents' cellar. (5 min)
The Gunfighter: In the tradition of classic westerns, a narrator sets up the story of a lone gunslinger who walks into a sallon, only everyone inside can hear the narration. (9 min)
A chance to visit a hotel, sit by the pool, and watch free movies? Sounds like a date made in paradise to us.
