A look at several greatest hits—from Scribe Winery to Fitbit—of two local design teams honored this year.
Two San Francisco–based design firms were among the 10 winners of the 2013 National Design Awards, announced by the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum on May 9. Aidlin Darling Design in SoMa, known for the innovative architecture, furniture, and interiors that it produces with an eclectic network of collaborators, including chefs and artists, took home the Interior Design Award. (We were onto them back in 2011.) NewDealDesign in Jackson Square, the firm led by superstar Gadi Amit, whose clients range from global brands to Silicon Valley start-ups, won for Product Design.
We’ve rounded up some of the two local winners’ greatest hits, from Bar Agricole to Chronicle Books.
