Get out to West Marin for oyster season. Whether you stay in Bolinas, Olema, or Point Reyes Station, here’s where to eat and drink.
Wake up: Before a breathtaking hike to Alamere Falls, fuel up with one of Bobolicious’s smoothies, like the Black Mambo ($6.75), made with fruit and spirulina.
6 Wharf Rd. (Near Brighton Ave.), Bolinas, 415-868-9978
Wind down: Hit Olema’s Farm House Restaurant for sublime polenta-crusted oysters ($15) and a pint of Scrimshaw ($5.50). Follow it with a Manhattan ($11) and a Point Reyes toma–topped burger ($15).
10005 Hwy. 1 (Near Sir Francis Drake Blvd.), Olema, 415-663-1264
While away: Smileys Schooner Saloon and Hotel is brimming with local characters and cheap booze. If you can’t drive home, be warned: The lodging in back is not for the finicky, but it’s a big step up from camping in the cold.
41 Wharf Rd., Bolinas, 415-868-1311
