The food, music, books, and more that San Francisco staffers and geeking out about this week.
Katherine Guzman, Editorial Intern: "Rib eye steak for two at Mason Pacific. 30 oz. of perfectly seared deliciousness. The kicker is that it comes with a tray of 13 accoutrements: little crystal cups of various sauces, jellies and pickles, plus a mini pitcher of their "Mother Sauce" (OMG). It's like the Flavor Bible came to life in my mouth!"
Scott Lucas, Web Editor: "The new Sandman prequel that Neil Gaiman is writing. The first volume of the comic book is out today, and even though American Gods and all his other novels have been good-to-great, I still think he's a better writer when the books have pictures in them. Maybe I just took excited about seeing the lead character, Dream, back in action to be objective.
Lauren Murrow, Style Editor: "I have two. First, The Bold Italic's heartbreakingly relatable video, People Running For the Bus in Slow Motion, because DAMN YOU, 38. Also, vampire fang nail art at Lux SF, where they're offering Halloween discounts through tomorrow. (Or, you know, attempt to knock it off at home.)"
Annie Tittiger, Managing Editor: "Wayward, a London-based producer, just released his new single "Love Jones" which takes vocal samples from the disco hit "Keep on Truckin'. It's got a groove that builds and once it hits its stride, you kind of wish it was on repeat all day, which it might be at my desk."
Stevanie Wazna-Blank, Editorial Intern: "Currently obsessed with the up-and-coming Brit—Maya Jane Coles. I just love a good female DJ and am looking forward to seeing her this weekend at Public Works. Here's a song from her SoundCloud."
