HAUTE DOG SF 4: A Doggie Fashion Show
Fashion history was made once again when San Francisco’s chicest pooches strutted the runway clad in couture outfits designed specifically for them by some of the Bay Area’s most prominent interior designers, using exquisite fabrics provided by showrooms at the San Francisco Design Center. As usual, the event closed the week-long industry event, Design San Francisco 2015.
The event was hosted by local fashion icon Wilkes Bashford, and ticket sales supported the beloved nonprofit organization Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, which finds happy homes for senior dogs. Guests enjoyed fine wines, scrumptious bites, an exciting raffle, and a visit through Posh Pup Lane—a shopping emporium of doggie delights. Special guests included Jane Wiedlin and Gina Schock from the superstar music group The Go Go's, and radio host Ronn Owens from KGO.
The raffle included a weekend experience with new partner British Motor Cars, which also displayed exotic luxury vehicles outside the SFDC's Galleria atrium for the event—guests were invited to learn more about iconic showstopping automobiles including Jaguar, Bentley, and more.
The runway's blue ribbon winner was Kismet Levi Lapovsky, an eight year-old Fox Terrier who is also the son and emotional companion of Sloan Miyasato showroom co-principal, Avner Lapovsky. "Kizzy" pulled tonight's outfit from his huge Valentine's Day trunk to pay homage to his transgender "sister" Maura Pfefferman of the groundbreaking series, "Transparent."
