Burberry gets crafty with its pre-fall accessories.
As chief creative and chief executive officer of Burberry, it’s no surprise that when it comes to inspiration, Christopher Bailey often has his eye on Britain. For Burberry Prorsum’s pre-fall collection, he chose the iconic Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century as a starting point. Rich tapestry brocades, English-woven embroideries and a leafy print à la William Morris ran through the collection and—in the most modern application—on its accessories. Fall may be well beyond the horizon, but these graphic booties and bags in saturated hues are a punchy forecast of the season ahead.
