Posh Shop
The Phipps powerhouse Saks Fifth Avenue has lifted the curtain on its expanded designer floor, which now includes in-store boutiques for Céline, Etro, Giambattista Valli, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney. “These are all designers that are driving a great deal of the current direction in fashion,” says Joe Boitano, senior vice president and general merchandise manager of Saks Incorporated. Boitano notes that Stella McCartney, a new addition to Saks Atlanta, will bring “a sense of calmness and a quirky sense of dress” into the mix. The luxe department store hasn’t had a major renovation since 2006. So, the undertaking will be a welcome gift for loyal clientele. Upstairs, you can catch the hottest trends for spring—Boitano’s predicting knitwear, mixed-media, a softened jacket and sportswear dressing as the main looks on fashion runways this month and next. 3500 Peachtree Road NE, 404.261.7234

Oh, Sherie
When Sherie Nevett was 15, she walked into an Alabama boutique and landed her first job. It was the owner’s idea, noticing Nevett’s unique style. After earning a fashion merchandising degree, moving to Atlanta and working at Neiman Marcus and Tahari, then landing a steady stream of TV styling gigs, she struck out to design her signature line, Sherie L. Nevett. “I love the creative aspect, moving from a sketch to production” and “seeing it come to life,” says Nevett, an Atlanta dweller. Inspiration for her upcoming collection is Paris, where she recently celebrated her wedding anniversary. It pairs the city’s romance and elegance with a modern and whimsical flair—think pale pinks and florals combined with graphic hits of black and white. With her wares gaining serious attention from Alabama to Chicago, you’ll no doubt be seeing her fashions here in her home base, too. In the meantime, you can find her online.
