Join us as Westside Cultural Arts Center (WCAC) brings art, history and music to West Midtown on Saturday, October 1 from 6 – 9 p.m., with the opening of its latest exhibit by artist, Joseph Guay, entitled “Remnants of the Human Condition.” Guay’s thought-provoking exhibit, created from bullets, gunpowder, shattered high-rise glass and products of terrorism, will examine the characteristics, events and situations that encompass human existence. “Remnants of the Human Condition” will explore the difficult topics in the media that attempt to sum up the human condition and will allow the audience to experience a differing visual approach that will broaden their views and beliefs. Paying homage to the violence currently appearing in the news, there are pieces that call attention to the details surrounding Trayvon Martin’s death, the Boston Marathon bombing, Alton Sterling’s death and the Dallas police officer shootings. The exhibition is from 6 to 9 p.m. and open to the public.
